dutch oven baking

Apologies for the crummy (ha!) phone photo, but I just had to share my latest kitchen experiment: baking bread in the dutch oven! A good rustic bread has that crackled crust from baking in a steamy oven, which is tricky in conventional ovens because they are designed to vent steam out. Using a dutch oven bypasses this issue and traps steam inside, and I have to say that this was hands down the closest I have come to a true bakery loaf. I'll experiment a bit more with the technique and have more to share down the road...
